Gullco Ceramic Weld Backing is a cost effective reliable material for producing x-ray quality back beads without costly grinding or gouging and re-welding. All KATBAK ceramics have knuckle joints where ever possible for use on flat or curved surfaces.
With the use of Gullco KATBAK ceramic weld backing x-ray quality back beads are created on the root pass. Weld only one side when using Gullco KATBAK weld backing. KATBAK makes it possible for larger deposits of weld metal, which makes it easier for root weld and fill in one pass. KATBAK reduces costly re-work and eliminates the need for post-weld gouging and grinding.
