The KBM® automated plate bevelling machine in this video is the KBM-18 model by Gullco International. It can be used on various types of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc.
The KBM can bevel mild steel at 10ft (3m) per minute and is self propelled to reduce material handling and operator fatigue.
During operation the plate bevelling machine is virtually silent which helps improve the work environment.
The KBM® uses a cold sheering process with a cutter made of hardened steel to remove the material. The steel is removed and produces a coil which absorbs all the heat during the bevelling process which mean there is no heat affected zone (HAZ) on the material. This means the elimination of distortion and allows for the plate to be welded immediately.
The plate bevelling machine comes with the option of both a hydraulic or spring loaded undercarriage upon request. (sold separately)
